Hi,
I am sorry if my question is repeated. I tried my best to search it,but couldn't find the problem.
I just started burning DVD's. Intially I used "1click DVD Copy" software in trial mode and made a perfect copy DVD+R which played perfectly in a stand alone player.
Then I switched to DVD shrink+Nero and burned 2 more DVD+R. When I played them back on a stand a lone DVD the picture slows/stutters and eventualy the player hangs (freezes on one frame) I can't continue past that frame.
When I played The DVD on my PC you can see the glitches and stuttring, but the movie continues to the END, but it is quite annoying.
When I played the backup files from my PC.. it plays back perfect.
so the ripping is okay, but there is a problem in the burning, and it didn't happen with "1click DVD copy"
can any one explain???
Thank you for the great forum!

I just burned it again from the hard disk folder to DVD+R using Nero burn ROM. It worked great. I have loast three DVD media so far because of this freezing problem. I hope someone could tell me what I am doing wrong!

@yarkandi
It sounds like what david66 said - poor quality media. I would also make sure you are not burning at max speed and that your firmware is up to date. Though w/ poor quality media it may help initialy but eventually it degrades.

As above - a number of possiblities

1. Poor quality media
2. Burning too fast (stick with 4X)
3. Use of labels on your burnt media.
4. Media incompatible with your standalone.

Also, you could be burning too close to the edge of the media. Set your target size to around 4300. Burning too close to the edge will cause freezes, pixelations as well.

All the other advice is great too. What kind of media are you using?
