Can anyone give me an idea from experience if TDK is a good quality disk. How abt Sony, Verbatim. I have a chance on a GREAT sale. Please reply ASAP.

Of those mentioned, Verbatims are by far the preferred choice.

VERBATIMS are the online choice of many here. SONY's which are on sale now at your local COMPUSA 50 disc spindle $17.99 8x DVD-R & +R and are my blank media choice and the best blank DVD media in my opinion. Consistent quality unlike most blank DVD media. SONY makes a promise of quality and it shows. Just press play, no searching or burn inconsistencies from disc to disc on the same spindle.

Sony is fine so long as it is Made in Japan, so read the lables. If it's made in Japan then it's TY media which is top of the line. Verbatim is pretty much the only good media made out of japan.

My preferred brands are Taiyo Yuden, Maxells (MIJ), Sony (MIJ), Maxells (MIT), Fuji (MIJ), and Office Depot branded +R's 8x.

Question? Can someone present an example of bad SONY media made in TAIWAN? Not hearsay. Another question? Can VERBATIM white tops or printables, or RIDATA DVD media be purchased locally at any retailer and for the prices found on the internet? Some place anyplace other than online. Appreciate the feedback.:)
