Hi all
I have been trying to back up some dvd movies that I own using the following hardware and software:

DVD Burner: NEC ND 2510a
Software: DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0, Nero 7 Premium
Media: Tesco DVD-R, 4.7GB 8X, Coded CMC MAG AE1

The video files are on my PC and I can play all chapters faultlessly using PowerDVD. I then try to burn the movies to dvd using Nero, (I have also tried DVD Santa) but I always seem to end up with the last chapter or two unplayable (freezes). This is the case with three different DVD movies.

Any suggestioons as to where I am going wrong would be appreciated.

Cheers

Instead of the default DVD-5 size, use a custom size around 4300 - 4350 MB to keep from burning so close to the edge of the disc... Also, make sure to use quality media (TY/Verb)... Good luck

Verbatim, Ritek or TY's - avoid using labels if possible

CMC = Crap Media Corporation

With the media you guys have recommended, do I still need to look out for specific codes, because I was just about to order some Verbatim dvds but saw that they are coded CMC MAG AE1 - the same as I was using before.

Should I look out for TYG02 or MCC - what do you guys recommend

Sorry for being a pain - I am a newbie afetr all

For the best prices:

Just order your TY from rima.com or supermediastore.com and you can be assured of its authenticity. YUDEN000T02 (+R) and TYG02 (-R)

Order Verbs from newegg.com or catch a local sale...

I'm just curious, what place had those verbatums coded cmc mag? I'd heard there were some out there but hadn't seen them for a long time. All the verbs I have ordered have been MCC (top quality).

OK. I've heard about those "pearl white" verbs being cmc mag. Go with verbatum datalifeplus or any verbs made by MCC and you will have top notch media.
