I have a couple basic questions about ripping/burning. I have been using DVD Shrink to rip to .iso and DVD DeCrypter to burn somewhat successfully but every once in a while I come up with a disk that I have problems with. I have figured out that cleaning the disks being copied is pretty important for success. That being said, this morning DVD Shrink just won't get all the way through a disk I was ripping. Quite near the end I get an error message saying something about a programming error. After several cleanings/attempts I gave up. I was able to use DVDFab Decrypter to rip audio_ts and video_ts files. But I don't have a clue how to get DVD Decrypter to burn these onto a DVD if that's even possible. What and how do I use to convert audio_ts and video_ts files to .iso that DVD Decrypter can burn? Thanks for any input....

@ggrata,

Now that you have the files on your HD from DVDFab. Open DVDShrink and in the upper left open Files instead of opening Disk and point it at the files that Fab made. Then Shrink as you normally would and tell Shrink to burn using DVDDecrypter. This should convert the files that DVDFab made to an iso image and burn. DVDDecrypter only burns iso images.

thanks 9mm.... I actually figured that out myself after posting although DVD Shrink obviously encountered the same problem(s) cause it closed prematurely with a similar error message. So I'm guessing that the DVD has an internal error (problem)that nothing will alter?

I am very new to DVD burning. I tried what you suggested in the above discussions but I get "cannot play" errors from my standalone DVD player. I have tried burning downloaded video_ts folders to play on my DVD using Nero, DVD Shrink, DVDfab and all of them give me this error in my DVD player. The DVDs play fine on my computer's DVD player. There is nothing wrong with my standalone DVD player. It plays other DVDs perfectly. The standalone DVD player is a Sony DVP-NS315. It plays DVD/CD/VideoCD CD-R/RW and MP3. I hope someone can explain to me how to make a standalone DVD. I have about 15 coasters trying to make a DVD to play in my standalone DVD player :)

@richardak,

Try the process of elimination? Take some of the disks that will play in your computer but will not play in your stand-alone and try them in several of your friend?s players.
If they play in other players, it?s a compatibility problem with your player. If they won?t play in other players, it?s something in the burning process..

Check it out and go from there???
