Every movie that I've backed up onto Memorex DVD+R 16X (using Benq DW1625 burner)seems to be having playback issues. They constantly pause throught playback, sometimes pausing and never restarting. When I attempt to re-open one of these with DVDShrink or DVDFabDecrypter to attempt to re-copy it I get a CRC error.
Everything else I've backed up prior to using the 16X media seems to work fine.
Is this my burner causing this, bad media or my DVD player?

more likely bad media. contact creaky or kivory666(aka Doc Ty) & they'll tell you same thing.

I also found that if your are trying to run too many Apps in the back ground it causes this too.
But like ddp has said it could be the media, I have a 50 disc cake box full of coasters.
Plus slower is better just because you can burn at 16X means you should. Here is a rule that I follow what ever the max speed is cut that in half at least.
Just some advice from things I learned the hard way.
Have a better on.

Try changing you media, Memorex has a bad name here with AD members as most failed burns are associated with Memorex discs, try some Verbatim or Taiyo Yudens.

Hi there,
Is you want to burn those Memorex, burn then at 2x
At least we won't need to throught them out (Which sounds good HEHEHE)
Because those are new 16x media, I strongly suggest you install the latest firmware on your drive.

Yeah, make sure you set the target size to 4300 so that you don't burn too close to the edge, memorex is noted for bad dye spread at the edges, and slow the speed down to not faster than 4x and you should be okay.
I would not burn anything that you want to keep for years on it though. If you want permanent storage of your video get the Taiyo Yudens or vertatims.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas

Hello Creaky & kivory666,
I was in an other forum, and someone was talking about MEDIA ID: AN32
Someone refered to these media with a lovely name...
It was so good, I will now call Memorex Media with this name !
He called it LandFill !
Now that's what I call, 1 word says it all :)

LMAO, thanks, you guys gave me a well-earned larf today, excellent. Bulkpaq's may indeed be inside torpedoes, but they belong at the bottom of the ocean somewhere!; (i'm 20pages of AD emails behind from before i made Mod so i'm trying to plough thru 'em and i've had a bad day so i needed a larf, cheers!)
