I apologize for being new at this, but have tried to find out as much as possible before posting.

I have some AVI files I'd like to burn as SVCD.

I got them all encoded and everything w/ TMPGEnc.

Everything worked fine, but the audio stream is slighty faster than the video because by the end of the 20 minute clip, they are about a second apart.

The AVIs are DivX w/ AC3 audio and the frame rate is 23.976 (NTSCfilm).

I'm not quite sure how to fix this, it's prolly really simple... (I hope!).

This often occurs when the AVI has MP3 VBR audio instead of MP3 CBR one (didn't you read the FAQs http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/196299 ? Shame on you!).
To fix it:

1) load the AVI with VirtualDub (you'll receive a warning about auio)
2) set Audio___Full processing Mode.
3) Do File___Save WAV.
You'll make a huge uncompressed WAV file (10.1 MB x length, in minutes)

Now load that uncompressed WAV file as 'audio input' in TMPGenc.

If you aldeady encoded the MPEG and you don't want to throw it away, simply compress that uncompressed WAV to MP2 with HeadAC3he, then multiplex it (File ____ MPEG Tools ____ Multiplex) to the video part of from the old 'unsync' movie (type: MPEG2 SuperVideoCD).

ok, well the link about "testing AVI files..." was broken on the FAQ page (and still is)

but the good news is, i did find a solution.

apparently the problem lied with BeSweet, which I was using to make my MP2s.

i took your advice and tried Headac3he, and it works great now. thanks!

oh, and as a side note, i used VirtualDubMod and demuxed the file and then converted the resulting AC3 file to MP2.

Yes, BeSweet is more powerful than HeadAC3ha but has many switches to modify an often gets you a bad result...ood for you it works, now.
But I insist: the link was talking about is http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/129217 and it's working!

well, i had just used the preset the BeSweet had for SVCD, and I assumed that it would make the correct settings.

Oh, and no matter what, I cannot get that link to work... (I'm using internet explorer) it just bumps me to the main forum page.
