I am new to copying DVD's and need a little help.I have downloaded Any DVD and DVD Shrink 3.2.I understand that AnyDVD works in the background and works with a burning program such as DVD Shrink.I copied a movie today, and everything seemed to go well...The movie copied to my HD and was then burned to a DVD.However, when I played the DVD, it froze several times or was intermittently jumpy. I know there are guides that might address this question, but I can't seem to find explanation on how these 2 programs work together?? I also have the latest Nero software and wonder if Nero would work better than DVD Shrink...any info would be helpful

Could be a media problem, what brand of discs are you using and your burn speed.

Sounds to me like your burning the disc too fast, try and keep it at 4x or less and see if that works. If not try some different media, Sony, TY's. Stay away from Memorex, Optodisc, Princo and other cheap media.

The fact that your getting the DVD to your HDD and compressing it down to fit onto a DVD-5 disc means that 90% of the hard work is done, you just gotta fine tune the burning part.

Hope this helps let us know!

The burn is recommended not to exceed half the rated speed of the blank.

As stated make sure you are using good media, and keep the speed to 4x.

with a burning program such as DVD Shrink
Shrink is not a burning program, it uses another program to burn such as DVD Decrypter or Nero. You must be burning with one of these programs.

AnyDVD is a driver that breaks encryption and then other programs see the disk as unprotected. DVD Shrink can rip many older movies without the need of AnyDVD, but it cannot do newer Sony protected disks. AnyDVD breaks the encryption and allows Shrink to rip and compress your movie to fit on a single layer 4.7g disk.

Check and make sure the firmware on your burner is up to date, you can do this through the Nero Info Tool.
