I already have dvd decrypter on my computer. Since DVD decrypter is no longer available online, i was wondering if there is a way that I can burn my decypter onto a cd as backup.. If my hard drive crashes etc, i will have dvd decrypter saved on a disc. thanks

Whenever i download programs, i put them in a folder called Downloads. When you install a program, it puts files all over the system. Used to be, you could just copy the folder the program was in, and you would get everything. I am not sure if decrypter puts any .dll files in windows system folder or not. The best way to back up these programs is to save the original setup file that you download, and make a copy of that. But as andmerr pointed out, you will be able to find DVD Decrypter out there on the net with just a little looking. Decrypter is small enough to save on a 256MB flash drive (USB port memory stick thing). I leave the Decrypter setup file and many other programs on my flash drive, and I also copied it to my other HD on the system. In short, yes you can save it to a cd, HD, Flash drive, or even a floppy as the file is 878kb.

Ditto's. It's what I did. I probably have several copies of it around on 3 different computers so I won't loose it if I need it or have a system crash.

But, it will be on the web forever.

Forever is such a long time and i do believe that macrovision seems to have long arms, cant decide who's going to be the clear winner in this situation

hi @)
yep i must agree, decrypter is every where
several million ppl all over the world has downloaded/saved it, so i can't see it disappearing
i've got it on 2 external hdd, a memory stick and a few cd's.
when you can send afile on places like messenger and skipe, its easy to get from a "friend" (and you have more "friends" than you realize)
on the updates ...yes they've won. but on stopping ppl keeping /useing it, no they can't win

But it clear who the loser(s) is/are. LUK is the most unfortunate soul in this whole battle, along with all of the people who followed and rely upon this wonderful prog that he created. But all is not lost, LUK has given us Imgburn to replace the burner in DVDD, and there are numerous other progs out there that have stepped in to help with the load, such as DVDFab Decrypter, DVD43, and AnyDVD.

As the others have already stated, I too have many copies of DVDD backed up onto a few different PC's and discs.
