Sounds like your ASPI drivers need reinstalled. Wnaspi32.dll is a special system file for use with CD and DVD software. It is important and may cause programs to malfunction if not installed.
You can get the latest version of ASPI drivers at http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.jsp?cat=/Pr...

When you install the ASPI drivera, the following files should install:
WNASPI32.DLL
ASPI32.SYS
WINASPI.DLL
WOWPOST.EXE

To find out if these files have been properly installed, you can try ASPI Version Checker. You can get it at http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.jsp?cat=%2F...

Are you using Windows 2000 or XP? If so you should not need ASPI to use Shrink. It sounds like you may have installed some software that has put the ASPI in your system - to be honest you're better off without it.

A_T, have a look at the link I posted. It says:
The four files needed for WinNT/2K/XP are the following:
(example: WINNT is the WindowsNT home directory)
WINNT\SYSTEM\WINASPI.DLL
WINNT\SYSTEM\WOWPOST.EXE
WINNT\SYSTEM32\WNASPI32.DLL
WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ASPI32.SYS

Yes those 4 files are needed for ASPI to work. But you're better off not having an ASPI layer at all - it's simply not necessary with XP and will often cause conflicts with other drivers. The best software (Imgburn, DVDDecrpter, ONES, Nero, DVDShrink) uses the native SPTI or their own drivers.

@golders
As far as I know DVDshrink does not require an ASPI layer to be installed in order to work(winxp has it's own). Wnaspi32.dll is usually installed on your system when you install Nero, it's possible that the dynamic link library(.dll) was somehow corrupted.

I recommend that you do a search on your system to find the location of the wnaspi32.dll file(take note of it's location). Follow the link provided and download the wnaspi32.dll file. Delete the corrupted one and replace it with the one you downloaded. Rebot and retry.

http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/WNASPI32.DLL.html

This will also help if you burn with DVDdecrypter. Open DVDdecrypter and choose tools--settings, click on the I/O tab. In the interface section you should see 5 choices for ASPI layers that decrypter can use, once you've replaced the wnaspi32.dll file(described above) you can choose either "ASPI-wnaspi32.dll" or what I would recommend "SPTI-Microsoft". Press ok and your good to go.

Also good if you use sony cd/dvd generator(for rebuilding ps2 games) or imgburn software.
