just read my post again and it dont make much sense does it (sorry about that but i am bit drunk at it is 5:55am here)
right what it is i got my self some Datawrite Titanium Printable 16X DVD-R got them because they dont cost too much and Datawrite Titanium's seem to have a good rep over here in the uk but i've been havein a few probs with these disc's, so did a bit of searching and found this http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/6378.cfm so now i find my self wondering if i'm having probs because the media i got is fake and was wondering to check to see if it was fake
hmm...well, since i'm here in the U.S., i'm sorry to say i have PERSONALLY never tried the Datawrite Titanium 16x printables before...
however, which one did you get...what is the media ID coding on them? you can use dvdidentifier or dvdinfopro to check~ :)
Datawrite Titanium DVD-R 4.7GB MCC 03RG20 16x (IF these are genuine MCC produced discs, they SHOULD be good, i've used about 100 of these under the Verbatim branding with good success, but, since i've never tried them (datawrite titaniums) PERSONALLY, i can't tell you whether they are real or not...it MIGHT help if you can provide me with the laser inscribed coding near the hub of the disc, however, that might be a problem in finding since they are PRINTABLES, good chance the printable surface is covering up the serial number)
Datawrite Titanium DVD-R 4.7GB TTH02....... 16x (this one, on the other hand, in MY OPINION ONLY, is pure CRAP~!! it's TDK's own manufactured media, i have used this before and let me tell you from PERsONAL experience, i will NEVER use TDK's own media again!)
so, at least from MY views on this, it depends on which ones you got...the dvd identifier program will tell you the "media ID" coding on your discs, then we can take it from there~ :)
lastly, how fast are you burning them at? while this may only be MY suggestion and others will disagree, i recommend burning them @8x on the 16x rated media..that's just how I do it personally...i don't burn @ 16x like some others do because for me, i HAVE seen some major errors on my 16x rated discs if i burn @ max speed...but, that's just ME and ME alone~ :)
good luck and let me know if you can find out WHERE your discs are made, should be Taiwan, but, i could be wrong...also, that serial number near the hub would be helpful to me if all else fails, that is to determine if it's genuine or not~
