hey Mike..thanks alot. What about for DVD+R (DL) or DVD+RW, -RW?
The BIG factor is COST.. Rewriteable disks are quite expensive! However, there are technical factors as well.

DVD+R and DVD-R are the industry standard format for high compatibility "permanent" videos. Almost all of the DVD Players on the market will play DVD-R disks. Over the last couple of years, nearly every manufacturer has included the DVD+R format on the list of disks that will play on their machines as well. This is not the case with DVD-RW or DVD+RW disks.

If you have an older player, and plan to use any of the rewriteable disks (-RW or +RW) you need to read the players technical data sheet to make sure that it will play them. Some players won't play rewriteable disks at all - some will play one type but not the other.

I am DONE with this subject!

Basically the only difference between +R/-R to +RW/-RW discs is that the RW discs allow you to use several times, if you dont wish to keep whats recorede on it you just erase and record again: this is NOT possible with the normal+R/-R discs, they are a once only use disc. If you want to keep your end result then use these discs. I recommend to all learners to start with a couple of RWs so that if they do make a mistake then they can start over again without ending up with a bunch of COASTERS.

@smsmike, surely your patience hasnt been tested already. Here at AD most members plod on regardless until the question is answered to satisfaction.

I think its called PROGRESS, once upon a time motor vehicles ran on petrol that contained lead, now we have autos that run on unleaded petrol but we still have the older cars so they have to make both leaded and unleaded petrol so as ALL cars can continue to operate...same thing some players use +R and some use -R. Which one would you like them to stop making?

I dont know of any guides. All you do with AnyDVD is set your region codes as I have done(you select your own region)

and with CloneDVD its a three step program and so simple.

If you check out these guides you may find something http://bbmayo.home.comcast.net/ or http://www.dvdplusvideo.com

Do these easy steps involve burning everything off the DVD (exta features, subtitles, main menu, etc)?

AnyDVD isn't a burning tool, if you want to select what audio/subtitle streams then you can use Clone or Shrink for that. But it will rip all things to your HD.

I looked through the guides but there wasnt anything for using only DVD Decrypter to back up dvd's. Is it possible to back up a dvd by reading (ISO mode) and saving to it my computer and then write the file (ISO) to a blank dvd?

@bestmiller, using the guides I provided to you is how I obtained my knowlege, I followed them to the letter and I now know how to tackle problems that seemed to me to be impossible. Follow the guides and you WILL find your solution. As for the image what I do is right click on image, go to properties, highlight the URL address click control c, then ok ..once you have done that you place the url between [img] at the start then at the end .. you put the same [img] but immediately in front of img you add /

i think if you just hit "Prnt Scrn" on your keyboard and go to Paint (from start - all programs - accessories- paint) and hit paste (or ctrl v), you get the screen and just cut the image you want.

When you right click the image, a box will appear, properties is at the bottom of this box. Your other method does NOT work.
