Hi,
I bought a DELL 9300 with Sony DVD+-RW DW-D56A as an optical drive.
I have Nero 6.6 intalled and I can burn CD's with no problem. I tried burning a DVD for the first time and after choosing the file, the program gets busy; 3 to 4 seconds in to the burning, it stops and gives me "unspecified target error" and end the burning!
What is wrong, I tried it with other programs and none of the other programs and burn a DVD either. Is it the blanck DVD that is not compatible?!I use Verbatim DVD +R

Your Nero log looks pretty clean, except a few minors.

Even you're using top notch Verbatim media, try to get their 4X and 8X media or genuine Yuden and Maxell (made in japan). Keep in mind to burn at 4X only (that's the best and safest).

Again look at above reply, try to burn at 4X with high quality media like genuine Yuden, Verbatim (Advanced Azo) and Maxell (made in japan).

You just download it, I forget but I think it 'installs' itself. Here is the link to it. Remember to just download packets 1 and 2, DO NOT download packet 3. If 5 days later you come back w/ a problem, post your log and I see that you have packet 3, I will KILL myself.

Is this a dell notebook? You seem to have plenty mem left but do have a lot in use at time of burn. That leads me to think what are the processes runing that is using some of the 61% in use. Try enditall2 to shut down some of them right before attempting to burn.
