Hi, I have to decide on either a fliptop or a solder modchip. There are pros and cons to both. I live in torontocanada, and i have to travel about 45 minutes to get the modchip installed. The pros to this are that my cousin got one and his has been going good for a while. Also, i dont have to switch dics every time a play a game with the swap magic. The cons are the distance and the cost, 110 dollars canadian. The fliptop, pros....havnt heard too much bad new about it, easy to install, cost less(im not sure how much. Cons, the switching of the games and the shipping costs. Please help me decide on this one, its a really big choice cus once i get it i cant get another one. If you do decide to chose the fliptop, could you please tell me a TRUSTWORTHY site which will ship to canada, plssss,,, and thank u.

I'd say get a modchip (a proper one like matrix infinity or DMS 4 Pro)

the thing is tho, i dont want to send my ps2 anywhere, i can take it to pcific mall(toronto), but thats really far. IS it worth getting the swap magics, is there any hassle to play certain games, because i am like a realllll beginner at this stuff and i dont no aloottt about computers, like i no most of the stuff, just not like compressing the files, an patching, that sort of stuff

Well, i'd say that getting a chip is worth the hassle, because imho, having to install a fliptop or taking off the tray cover and using a slidecard, then having to rebuild a game, and then having to use swapmagic for every backup you use, just seems to be more of a hassle than travelling to get it done and then just being able to play backups by burning them and loading them...

I gotta agree with daniel. Modchip is defenatly worth the hastle especially if you're not very handy with pcs. All that rebuilding stuff eventhough there's tutorials might be a bit too much for you. One word of advice though, if you're getting an install done at pacific mall be sure to test out the ps2 at the store before you leave with it (make them test everything in front of you including dvd/cd original, dvd/cd backups). I know of someone that does installs in niagara if that's closer to you however last I know of he only does duo2se.
