Ok so i have been battling now to sort out this ound issue which is going out of sync and for the love of **** i can't fix it!!

I've followed the user guide on the forum of how to Convert a DivX or XviD AVI to DVD. However after 4 tries with following this guide and almost 80hrs i give up!!

When i use AVIcodec this is the info it tells me:

File : 349 MB (349 MB), duration: 0:42:22, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 50 %

Video : 309 MB, 1022 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 608*336 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported

Audio : 39 MB, 129 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = Lame MP3, Supported

So those are the details to hand from AVIcodec.

When i open IFOEDIT and choose my AUDIO file it seems to bring up this file already:[1]_VTS_01_1.80.ac3

However i don't know where this file is because i don't see it in the folder where i directed TMPG to put the files! However there is the file which TMPG created present in the folder and is a .mp2 file.

I also noticed that when i went to dvdshrink it said my audio was GERMAN!!!! Its english!! Thats after i had used ifoedit by the way!!

I have all the lateset codecs installed on my pc including LAME MP3.

I would really like to use dvdsanta to do the authouring cause its pretty fast! I noticed that when i use dvdsanta it says my audio type is PCM watever that means!!

Please tell me wat to do in a step by step guide cause i honestly have NO idea of wat to do! Also i will be using dvdshrink as i need to fit for files onto 1 disc.

Thanks

Just an update, the audio file TMPG created plays in windows media player but it has no sound!! I've also tried to play back the dvd in IFOEdit option at the bottom dvd play and it plays the picture but no sound!!

The error messages are as follows: NO VALID DVD-VIDEO VOLUME COULD BE LOCATED DO YOU STILL WANT TO CONTINUE? Yes/NO

I click YES and then this:

DVD WARNING: The DECODER DOES NOT SUPPORT THE NEW FORMAT

Under the stram section of the dvd play menu it says my audio is german

If i click on Audio Menu nothing happens.....

Maybe you could try encode with VSO (free version), then burn with e.g. Nero:

Good luck!

@ cougar_ii,

You're heightening all of our expectations! *_*

I now have 1.99.24.66, will the new release have better menu creating features like Nero Vision Express?

Hi there,

Right now, they want to release a new version with the new conversion engine.

I think the interface will be 99% the same.

Therefore the menus will still be automatic with the filename.

Once the new engine is released and most problems are fixed (After beta testers and users have a go at it) then them will work on new stuff, like menus.

I have no idea on the timeline for this as I was not told the future plans.

I personally can't wait to get my hand on a ßeta with the new engine...

Will the burning part be improved also? I've tried to use it several times and the results have been a bit disappointing. Some people here are also experiencing problems having their dvd players recognizing the burnt copies.

What went wrong, and what didn't you like about it ?

The burn engine in DivxToDVD is 100% the same SDK Burn Engine as CopyToDVD.

I think it's rock solid and works extremely well.

I think people are using CMC Mag crap media, and burning too fast.

OR their DVD Player is NTSC and they are configuring DivxToDVD to generate PAL .vob files.

I'm a ßeta tester for VSO, and I'm very happy with the latest burn SDK and Patin Couffin v1.35 which fixed a lot of issues !

My 2 cents...

It burnt o.k., but some of the discs couldn't be played on the standalone. But I don't get this problem with other programs (e.g. Nero, Decrypter). Just would like you to know since you're a beta tester.
