I'm trying to get my own ringtones onto my Motorola v188 phone. I've installed the usb drivers, the phones detected, all that stuff. I have P2KMan, P2KTools and Motorola Mobile Phone Tools 3.40i

Now, I can get wallpapers onto the phone just fine so far. But ringtones I'm having some issues.

I can transfer files just fine. When I put a song onto the phone, it ends up in the "a/mobile/audio" directory. From the phones menu, I can go to Multimedia - Sounds and the song will be there. Song works yay. But, I can't get the song to become a ringtone.

The song will not appear in the ringtone list when changing the call ringtone. As well, on the sounds menu where I can play the song, if I select "Set as Ringtone" it says it sets the ringtone to call, but when I check it hasn't changed the ringtone both in the menu, and in actuality (call phone, and it rings old ringtone)

Is there a step I'm missing somewhere that makes a Sound file become a Ringtone usable file in the phone?

This happens for midi and mp3 files.

There will be two db files related to the ring tones, delete them and shutdown and restart the mobile you will get the newly added ring tones showing up.
