DVD burned on set top recorder

I have a DVD from a set top dvd recorder. The recorder is a Pioneer DVR-225S. It was recorded in video-VR mode, where i could edit the contents with the recorder's editing features. I used a DVD-RW to record the movie. I finalized said DVD-RW, and used DVD Decrypter to back it up onto a DVD-R. I used ISO mode to read and write from. THEN i realized that i forgot to edit some parts out of the movie (commercials). Then, to compound the problem, the DVD-RW that i used initially to record the movie got some bad scratches in it, and could not repair it with my trusty Disc Dr. DVD repair thingamajig. I cannot unfinalize a DVD-R with my recorder, and therefore cannot edit the movie.

When calling up a directory of the disc with 98se, it says it's an audio cd. I tried downloading ISO Magic, to see if i can edit the disc, but it won't even ackknowledge it.

Does anyone out there have any solutions? Are there software titles that will possibly convert an ISO dvd to a more common DVD with VOB files? Are DVD's created with Pioneer VR mode compliant with any other recorder's VR mode?

I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
