Hello All,

I have a question I hope someone can answer.

There are many programs that let you copy your DVDs, but which one is best?

By best, I mean best picture quality.

I am not concerned about speed or ease of use (Because of all the wonderful guides in here) Just Quality.

It seems the choice for removing the copy protection is either DVD Decryptor or AnyDVD. Since Decryptor is no longer being updated, AnyDVD seems to be the one of choice.

But what about fitting a DVD-9 movie on a single DVD+R/DVD-R Disc?
Shrink, DVD2One, CloneDVD, Other?

Finally which program to do the actual burning?
Nero, DVDXPlatinum, DVDXPress, DVD Rebuilder, DVDREasy, Other?

I have Nero 7 Ultra amd am using a Pioneer DVR-110 Burner.

Thanks in Advance Guys!

To remove copy protection you can also use DVDFab Decrypter. That is still being updated and even better it is free

ahhhhhhh the age old question that everyone asks one time or another. Well.......... BACK IN THE DAY........... when I was a newbie...... hahahhaah......

ok.... I use many programs but the best is DVD-RB with CCE! Most knowledgeable people agree on this. Intervideo DVDCopy3 is another for good quality video but you need AnyDVD or DVD43 to use it and it burns at maxium! If using this program just set the destination to a folder on your hard drive and burn with your favorite burning program at a reasonable speed of 4x! Another good progie is DVDFab Express ..... but I only use it if the quaity of compression is 80% or better, otherwise it's DVD-RB for me! DVDFab Express is simple, easy to use and fast enough even burning at 4x! Nero is another goodie! But all in all its the old proverb: USE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU! don't change what's not broken and keep on burning baby!!!!!

Ditto everyone's recommendations so far. DVD-Rebuilder with CCE provides the BEST quality HANDS DOWN!!!

I have been totally satisfied with the quality produced with usage of the programs DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink and CloneDVD2. Of course I'm not that picky.

Without a doubt dvdrebuilder and cinema craft encoder or hc encoder by hanks are the best regarding video quality. CCE is a little faster than hc but CCE costs $58 and hc is free and comes bundled in the dvdrebuilder installer (link is in my sig). If you want to edit out previews, adverts, trailers, some or all extras, I recommend useing dvdremake although IFOEdit and vobblanker will do this also but are not as user friendly. You can then burn the video_ts with Nero or a burn utility of your choice. If you make a small donation ($25 now I think used to be $10) and get dvdrebuilder pro it can make an iso and if you choose use dvdd or imgburn to burn the image to a disc automatically after the encoding is done. Other added features of the pro version are choices of encoding the whole folder, encoding movie only, encoding menu and movie only, encoding menu and movie with extras as stills and some others. Awsome software.
