Hello! I'm new to this, so maybe this is a silly question, but I can't encode my avi's to dvd, for some reason. I have tried dvd santa, avi2dvd and film machine.
I always get an error. Both dvd santa and film machine just exit during encoding and, as for avi2dvd, this is the log file I have:

[19:07:22] AVI2DVD Started !
[19:07:25] Type mode : Avi Input
[19:07:25] Output : Dvd
[19:07:25] Encoder Selected : HCEnc
[19:07:25] Start demuxing the AudioStream No.1 ...
[19:09:01] Demuxing of the selected audio finished successfully ! [C:\Documents and Settings\Isabel Vieira\Os meus documentos\Os meus vídeos\wallace and gromit\Avi2dvd_temp\Extracted_Audio.mp3 75428040 Bytes]
[19:09:05] Audio extracted renamed successfully ! [C:\Documents and Settings\Isabel Vieira\Os meus documentos\Os meus vídeos\wallace and gromit\Avi2dvd_temp\Fixed_Audio01.mp3 75428040 Bytes]
[19:09:05] Starts Mp3->Ac3 convertion ...
[19:09:11] Audio converted in Ac3 successfully ! [C:\Documents and Settings\Isabel Vieira\Os meus documentos\Os meus vídeos\wallace and gromit\Avi2dvd_temp\AudioStream 1 MP3 2CH.ac3 -1 Bytes]
[19:09:11] Job NOT Done. There are warnings ... Find at the log file the 0 byte generated file to focus where exactly the problem appears
[19:09:11] All Jobs Done !!!

I've tried it with the other encoders too, but the result was the same.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

I forgot to say that my movies have subtitles (I'm Portuguese), so DivXtoDVD won't work for me, since "it doesn't support converting external subtitles to DVD-compliant subtitles", so I'm gonna try to install the k-lite mega pack for the codecs and then let you know how it went.

Is the video downloaded?

yes, but I've tried it with 3 other videos (also downloaded) and the same thing happened.
I've installed the k-lite already and I'm encoding right now with film machine, using HCbatch. I'm not sure if everything will work, but, at least, the video conversion has started (usually it just crashed during the audio).
I'm going out now, but in a few hours I'll post again and tell you how it went.

Hope that this time it'll work. But I asked because downloaded videos often contain errors. You could check for and correct them with e.g. AviFixed, but be sure to back up the original videos first 'cos the process might sometimes backfire:

Good luck!

a few hours later, I'm back! And I'm happyyyyyy!!! =)
I think that my problem was that I had many codecs downloaded from different locations and they were making a conflict that crashed the programs. The k-lite has asked me to uninstall several codecs and then everything worked out.
Thank you very much for your help!
