i got Anydvd and clonedvd2 although i havnt used clone yet i just burn with Nero. I have no problems witht he decriptions cuase anydvy works good but every time i burn it burns blank. there is never anything on the cd. Ive tried everything and my free trial is going to end in 10 days or so can you pease help me?

can i burn straight from a DVD to a DVD or do i have to rip them onto hard drive first?

It's usually recommended to rip to hard drive and then burn.

Going straight from disc to disc is riskier-also called on the fly- and you have to take into account of if you are ripping a dvd-9 original onto a dvd-5 blank. Those dvd-9's will have to be compressed with a program called dvd shrink in order to fit a standard blank dvd-5 single layer disc.

For ripping cds and those smaller dvd-5 originals,copy disc feature of nero should do the trick for on the fly since you have anydvd running in the background.
If those dvds are the larger dvd-9s,then they'll have to be compressed unless you are backing them up on dual layer blanks.

It all comes down to what you are trying to backup.

I haven't used clonedvd2,but I do have anydvd. I use dvd shrink on 95% of my originals and nero6 to auto burn. The other 5% of the movies that this combo doesn't work for,I use dvdfab decrypter express/activate anydvd/and-or dvd decrypter. Dvd shrink and dvd decrypter are free,and anydvd is needed because of these programs are no longer updated. These programs,like many others,have trouble with the newer sony arrcos encryption: Betwitched/lords of dogtown/etc

Also when you are burning on the fly... even if it's going to be a 1:1 copy (DVD5 to DVD5) the source disc should be an unecrypted one.

even if i dont shrink it and i burn it should burn something right? Im not getting nothing. After the burn was "sucsefully copied" I double click on the AnyDVD icon and it says no disk present. Ive tried alot of combinations alot of times and i cant get it to work. I have t be doing something wrong
