Hi all,

Recently I've noticed a problem with the movies I've backed up. I've used DVDshrink and CloneDVD to backup the movies, they're usually re-authorized so the compression is set at around70-80%.

After a seccussful burn, I've noticed that the picture is crystal clear at a moment, and becomes a little blurry or fuzzy(very slight change among the fine lines of the picture) every feww seconds. This condition repeats throughout the entire movie, couple seconds the picture's clear and defined like the original, and then it becomes blurry, then define....etc

The problem is very minimal and not noticible uless I watch the movies through my 50" Plasma. I've tried several movies with cheap generic DVD+Rs as well as Brands like Fuji and Sony, the problem remains. At this time I'm also trying out burning with a Lite-On burner(The previous ones were all made with a Samsung).

Has anyone else ever encountered the same problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes this will happen if you burn at a high speed. What speed of burn do you use? I burn at 4x and do not experience this issue. Media of course can cause this as well. Make sure that you use quality media. I use Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, Sony (MIJ), Verbatim.

Set your target size to 4300 so you don't burn too close to the edge of the disc.

thanks for replying.. I've tried burning at 4x, 2x and 1x. The same peroblem remains, but I noticed that with CloneDVD I've set my target at around 4400, maybe thats the case. I'll update with the reesults after I change it to 4300
