On another forum, the DVDIdle one, someone there suspects that it may have ripguard protection (like Madagascar). If so, I expect that you wont be able to decrypt this until alot of folks have a chance to look at it after it is officially released next week, when all can have a crack at it.

Why not give AnyDVD and CloneDVD a shot. You can download a 21 day free trial from aD. AnyDVD just runs in the background making the disc appear to be copy protection free.
@creaky
From what I've heard the movie is only so-so at best so waiting while the rest of us may struggle with this one may not be such a bad thing!

@DVDRipGuy
Most burning progs are compatabile with AnyDVD. I use Recode in Nero, Shrink and Clone to do most of my movies.
Are you having a problem with AnyDVD and the progs you have listed?

Well that would be alot of programs! Plus then you gotta watch out on the progs that conflict and don't play well together like Roxio and Nero. Just my personal opinion but I'd stick with what you got -well I would dump xcopy though & add Shrink & Decrypter. The full version of Nero does a heck of alot - so much so that I don't any need to get other programs. Just my 2 cents

I backed up Brothers Grimm by reauthoring in DVD Shrink, and just doing the main movie and not the extra features. I was also able to download thru DVD Decryptor and planned on messing with it later.

I was getting the crc error. Anyway, I returned that one and got another copy from somewhere else, so I will see what happens when I get home from work tonight.

Well the crc error usually means bad/scratched/dirty disc. And my guess is that's what it was since AnyDVD should be able to handle this. Not out yet for the rest of to try so just my guess and way71 was able to backup this up w/ AnyDVD.
Post back your results with the new disc - good, bad or otherwise.

Yeah, the first disc did have scratches on it. It's funny 'cuz I got my hands on an Exorcism of Emily Rose from the same store, and that one was a little marked up and I couldn't get that one to work either. I can't believe it was just scratches, b/c I stayed up half the night trying numerous things including DVD Decrypter, dvdfab decrypter, cleaing the disc, clonde dvd 2 and DVD Shrink. I also have 1clickdvdcopy and that didn't work.

Well if it's a bad press which I'm thinking they are then we can't see the problems on the disc but the ripper sure does! Decrypter is usually the best when it comes to these discs imo. They'll play fine but when it comes to ripping different story.
Here's a link for 'hard to rip' dvd's that may help:
