I am aware of the amount of posts on this topic, however I feel none of these threads or replies have solved my problem.

My setup:
One laptop containing a wireless (802.11b) Linksys PCI adapter. It also contains one ethernet NIC in the motherboard (with ethernet port on it).

I have one 7 foot CAT6 patch cable (crossover) going from this ethernet NIC to the XBox. The wireless card is able to connect to the wireless network by itself.

However, when I bridge the wireless adapter and the CAT6 cabled ethernet NIC, the wireless adapter can no longer connect to the wireless network, although Windows reports that it does. I tried putting the wireless adapter into ForceCompatibility mode, but to no avail. The wireless adapter is unable to connect to the wireless network therefore the XBox is unable to sign on to XBox Live!. Is there no hope for me?
