I have tons of AVI video files on my computer. I would like to watch my AVI files on a regular home DVD Player. So my question is, How do you burn AVI files to a DVD and make a home DVD Player able to read it? I have wasted at least 15 DVDs. Please try to make your explanations as detailed as possible.

A simple and reliable way would be to convert the avis into dvd compliant format with VSO DivXtoDVD (free version), then burn with e.g. Nero:

You can add more than one avis at one time. Just keep adding before hitting 'convert'.

Good luck!

The only standalone DVD players that will playback AVI files are ones that can read MPEG-4. Otherwise you need to make them into DVD-Video. You can either try one of the standalone programs or learn the entire process of converting to MPEG-2 and authoring a DVD. Whichever way you want to do it I'd recommend going through the sticky threads at the top of this forum to learn a few things. You can also find links to many programs and guides to get you started.

If your already using Nero, then try vision express as this will convert an AVI file to dvd and burn in one operation.
Chances are if you already have a code, then downloaded various updates will all operate under the same code.
I orignally had an oem copy of Nero which cost me £4, the code worked for every app I tried.
I now have various unlock codes for all the add-ons but not sure if you will need to download and apply these as well.
They should be available for download from Nero or other sources if you know where to look.
