Hi, I have a copy of the Madagascar DVD. I use DVD Shrink to make a copy of the DVD. After analyzing the DVD disc, it comes out to 4,630MB in size. Is there a way I can still shrink this into a 4.7GB DVD disc.
Thank you
Mike

Go to (in Shrink) Edit>Preferences and on the Preference Tab set the target size.

Wassup ruger?
@ahar429
When you set the target size to 4300, you are telling DVD Shrink that you want to output size to equal that amount. 4300 will make the ISO image without too much compression and at the same time doesnt let you burn too close to the edge of the disc.

Hi, thank you very much for the info. So, custom only takes 4300 as an input for 4.7GB disk. Is there another value? What is the value for 8.5GB?
thank you

You can select any value you want, but 4300 is recommended to keep you from burning too close to the edge while allowing for acceptable compression. In case you are using a DL disc (DVD-9) you shouldn't even have to use DVD Shrink, because the entire disc should fit to an 8.5Gb disc with no compression.

Hi, when I set the custom to 4300 do I need to set the compression to 'custom ratio' or do I just leave at 'automatic'. This is using DVD Shrink. When I set to 4300 and then click on 'Backup Disc', it still prompts me that my destination DVD not enough size and option to click 'ok' or 'cancel' . Do I just click 'ok'?
Thank you

ahar429,
When you get that message you probably will need to remove some of the audio and subtitles. If that does not help you get to 4300 then Shrink it to HD and then re-Shrink that file you just did again and then burn

Hi, the bar at the top of DVDShrink is green for 4300MB and the rest is red. I try it last night with DVD Beaty Shop and using Custom 4300MB and it still doesn't work. After finishing processing of the file and ready to burn, it compliants that my destination DVD-R does not have enough space. I must be missing something. What?
Thank you

Hi, I also remove some the audio files and still it complaints. But I though custom 4300MB will be able to get all files. This doesn't make sense and i do make sense. How could squeeze 4630MB into 4300MB (thus making it less than 4.7GB)? 4630MB to 4300MB, do I need a magic stick? Thank you
