Hi, I have a CD that is 80.43 mins in size. Is there a software out there that I can Shrink this into a 80 mins disk. Which is the max size in the market.
Thank you
Mike

My first thought is DVDShrink, but I don't do CD audio backups so I am not sure.

I think it's possible to reduce the size a bit if you rip the cd to wma or mp3 and then back to cd... not sure though, I'll give it a test and get back to you about it, unless someone else has the answer in the meantime.

Found the answer for you...

In Nero, you can set the preferences in the expert features tab to cd overburning.. that'll let you record around 82 mins on an 80 min cd.

What do you mean when you say it didn't work.. did it get errors during the burn process? did it not play after you burned it?

Hi, using Nero Express, after analyzing the cd. It prompts me that the destination cd does not have enough space. It give me the option to 'ok' or 'Overburn' but option 'overburn' may damage your burner. I have the overburn option click on and set at 82mins. what do I do?
Thank you Mike

That's your call I'm sorry to say.. I can only tell you how it can be done. The Nero warning is there for a reason.. it's up to you whether you risk it or not.
If you don't want to risk it, then either lose a track off the album, or split the album into 2 cd's and burn it that way.

Sorry I can't be more help, but no-one knows if it'd work or not for you in particular. I don't want to say yes, go ahead and then be blamed if anything happens to your burner etc.. it's totally your call whether to do it or not.

good luck with it whatever you decide to do
