well i have been reading that -R's are better for ps2 but that is not true for me. I have about 30+ -R backups and they work for crap. they lock up constantly and dont load correctly. I know i burned them right cause all my +R games work perfect. My ps2 is only 3 years old. So what is the deal? I have tried all dvd recording software and none make any difference, also i have a good burner. Its a sony. So why aren't they working right? I have read all the tutorials out there and nothing helps.

ah...I'm board....were's that shotgun?

you didn't mention what brand they are (makes a HUGE difference). Also, since your ps2 likes +r, i would just continue using +r discs.

older ps2 versions can't red +r's but i think from v3 and up can. I have a v6 and reads them just fine. My maxell DvD+r's have worked like a charm. Before i really got to know more about ps2 burning i found the memorex's i were using were pitiful.. long load times, messed up videos, and audio not in sync

if a quality media is used ALL units will read -Rs. -Rs are supported by most DVD players as well and +Rs are not as universal. the only advantage to a +R is the ability to write the booktype to the disk, a -R is already wrote (stamped) when manufactured.
