I'm not familiar with .CDI format, and I need to burn it to a DVD disk that is playable in a DVD machine. Could someone guide me please. Hope I'm in the right section of the forum... Thanks.

No, its not really a movie. Its a fireplace kinda thing you play on your TV set through your DVD player. Its a .cdi format. I think it could stand for CD Image, but I still can't figure out how to burn it. Maybe as a CD Data Disk, instead of DVD I'm not sure... Any help is great. Thanks.

Hi Stiff,

I may be able to help. When you say .CDI format do you mean that the disc is a Philips CDI (Compact Disk Interactive) which contains a movie?

When you put the disk into ur pc cdrom drive what files or folders do you see?

Hopefully a few folders and one called MPEGAV and in this folder is a file AVSEQ01.DAT

Let me know and we can go from there.

Hi B00KANEAR and Stinff,

Nice to read your conversations about the CDI problems. I think I've got the same problems so Stinff has. I've got downloaded a file with the name "fireplace-aquarium.CDI".
It has to be a movie from a fireplace and from an aquarium. Maybe very nice to show it on a big screen.
First, I'm absolute not a specialist with this stuff. I like to burn this movie on a "normal" DVD, so I can play it in my DVD player.
The file is a CDI format, what ever that will be (hihi), and I don't know how to convert the movie in an AVI or mpeg file. When I've got an AVI, burning on a DVD had been succesfull.
Other information: the file is 4,3 Gigabyte.

So, It seems the same problem and hopefully B00KANEAR can help us.

Kind regards,

Tadde11

Howdy Tadde11,

I did a google search for the file you guys downloaded
This is quite unusual but by the looks of it the file you have is is a disk image of data very similar to an .iso and .cue/.bin file an isn't the Philips CDI Type.

I found this which may help.

If you are using Nero you need to download safebootv5 which converts the .cdi file to a TAO (Track At Once) .nrg file which you can then burn to a DVD disk in Nero and will create an install disk with all the files needed to install this program whatever it is????

If you need any more help just ask

B00KANEAR's on the right track there, a lot of Dreamcast games come in .CDI format, and you usually convert them to a.n.other format (the exact format escapes me) as does the name of the program you use to convert. but B00KANEAR's got the answer there.
