Sounds like a media problem. Which brand are you using? Burn speed?
Can you post the Nero log?

Your brand and burn speed should be okay. Are you receiving an error? Post your Nero log - it can be found at c:program files>ahead>nero>nero history.log

When you used Shrink, did you try re-authoring and just copy main maovie? It's worked for me when at other times with similar problem

I just tried to run it again to generate a log for you. I used an RW disc instead of a single-write so as not collect another coaster. I hope that doesn't matter. I believe the RW was a Sony. The disc size was set to custom - 4360MB so i didt burn to the discs edge.

Here's the log from recode -

No I didn't try shrink to re-author. As your see i used recode to keep menus. Again, i used CloneDVD also, same result. When using shrink, i did the whole disc except for some audio. I hope you can help, i'm going whacko - did everything i could think of.

I had no problems backing up that movie with DVDFAB Decrypter and Shrink, with all extras included.

I can understand about the Incd software but i have the same error when using clonedvd and when using shrink burning with decryptor - is the Incd messing up all my writing programns?

I ask becse i had trouble downloading nero to begin with - isp issues - didn't want to fight that if i didn't have to.

I'm thinking somethings up with your drive and/or maybe aspi. Just guessing though so hopefully Creaky will step back in.
Here a few things from your log that make me think that:
Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ?

=== Scsi-Device-Map === your burner BENQ DVD DD DW1625 is not listed here but if it's external that could be why.

InCd can cause conflicts with other burning software and this may be some of the problem. Sorry can't be of more help but this one has me a little stumped.

Nero API version: 6.6.0.6
- not too bad, 6.6.0.18 is latest 6.x version but i doubt your problem is Nero related. though as you need to uninstall/reinstall Nero to get rid of InCD, you may as well go update to 6.6.0.18 while youi're at it

- in Nero 6.x you see a question mark here if the burner is external to the PC, ie USB or whatever/or if there's a problem with the atapi drivers. In this case the atapi drivers look ok and the burner is external to the PC (HA 3 TA 0)

Sorry, I had trouble signing on - something about servers ?

Anyway, I updated my firmware, uninstalled Incd.

I went to Device manager and saw no question marks (?).

As I said, the burner IS external

I saw no error in reading while working with discs ????

Refer to my original post -
Quote:
I ripped the DVD with decryptr, dvdfab decrypter and anydvd and all is good.
Again, i recieve no error when ripping with anything. I have gotten an error using shrink when beginning to process - don't remember exactly what -

Mostly it drops out when trying to burn - generally around the beginning of the burn. 7 to 13% of the way in.

I did try to burn the disc again after riding myself of Incd. Actually I traded my copy for a friend?s copy in order to backup only in case there was a problem with the disc itself.

Oh yes, i burned only the movie, trimmed off all extras and trailers as suggested and i still have the same problem ? This is getting old ?

I?ll try to get rid of everything Nero and try again ? will post back -

Editted because I forgot to add that i traded discs from the TY i was using to a verb datalife plus to see if that made a difference - it didn't - this sucks!

Nero API version: 6.6.0.6
- not too bad, 6.6.0.18 is latest 6.x version and as you're using Recode i'd update to 6.6.0.18. I used 6.6.0.0 for quite a while without issue, but i was only using Burning Rom so i know the audio/data aspects of Burning Rom were ok (for me) on an old version but as you're using something like Recode i'd update it

Recorder: <BENQ DVD DD DW1625> Version: BBGA
- firmware is now up to date however see comments further down my reply

Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB)
Last address to be written: -1 ( 0:00.-1, 0MB)
- wierd, i saw where you mentioned the data was set for 4360MB

Recorder: BENQ DVD DD DW1625, Media type: DVD+R
- your firmware, while new, is lacking - it can't recognise those blank discs you're using. this is similar to what you should see -
Quote:
Recorder: HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N, Media type: DVD-R
Disc Manufacturer: TYG02 -
Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193
- ie a 3line paragraph when the firmware's up to date. When the media isn't recognised you just get the first line
