There is a way to speed the process up of copying games to do so simply do the following;

Right Click the external hard drive and go to properties click the hardware tab, select it agian from there click propertis and then click on "Policies" Tab and select optimize for performance that should speed it up.

One other way which evreyone must know is simply connecting the hd in your computer (ide-cable) it takes just few mins that way.
