Hi, I am getting a cracking error on one file when trying to burn the Madagascar DVD. This is using both DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink. I also try running DVD43 in the background. Any other suggestion?
Thank you
Mike.

DVD43 was just updated for this. Make sure you have the latest version.

Yes, that's the latest.

Post the error so someone can look into it.

i recently did Madagascar effortlessly with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..

What you need to do is get VOBBlanker at http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

The movie contains cells with embedded errors that cause this problem when using DVDshrink. VOBBlanker will remove these cells and allow DVDshrink to do it's job. It does require the files to be ripped by DVDdecrypter in "file mode". Once DVDdecrypter has done it's job open VOBBlanker and point the SOURCE selection to the VIDEO_TS.IFO file located in the VIDEO_TS folder, then choose where you want the processed files stored, now just press the PROCESS button. Use the processed files with DVDshrink.
Enjoy your copy.....

Hi, I already ripped the DVD with DVd Decryptor and got the 'invalid data file VTS_08_TS.VOB'. I don't need to re-ripped the DVD with DVD Decryptor, right? All I have to do is run VOBBlanker and re-generate all the files again to another directory and DVDShrink it again, right?
Thank you

That's right. Take the files you already ripped and process them with VOBBlanker, then use the processed files with DVDshrink.

Use the mirror 1 link at the center of the page.

Remeber to save the processed files in a folder also called VIDEO_TS so that DVDshrink will recognize them. Folder name must be as shown.

Hi, I don't have to set anything within VOBBlanker, right? After I run the VOBBlanker on the files, DVDShrink will recognize the files, right?
Thank you

It doesn't look like you used it correctly. I need to know what you did.
First create a folder on your desktop called "processed"

example: run Vobblanker
for "Input folder" selection , browse to where you ripped the video files with Decrypter, highlight the "VIDEO_TS.IFO" file and press ok/open tab.

could look like this c:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO

for "Output folder" selection, browse to the "processed" folder, highlight it and press ok/open tab.

could look like this c:\processed

Press process tab, when complete rename the "processed" folder VIDEO_TS and open files with DVDshrink.

Hey mike,
I just tried the entire process i explained and was unable to duplicate the error you're getting. The entire process worked without a hitch.
Can you please explain what you did step by step.

Got alot to do today, but will get back as soon as I can.

I can't believe Madagascar is still around here. Madagascar has Macrovision's RipGuard protection and or b!tch, but it's super easy as smokin'.

Here's what you need to do, and I GUARANTEE YOU that you'll be able to have a "successfully working full disc" within 45 minutes. Yeah, you hear me, that's right... a full disc guarantee to work.

**TOOLS NEED: DVDFAB Decrypter or DVD Decrypter (your choice), VobBlanker and DVD Shrink.

Get free VobBlanker here http://members.aol.com/posunplugged/jsoto/VobBlanker_2010_exe.zip

Get free DVDFAB Decrypter here http://69.73.173.59/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe

**EXTRA STEP: now pop a bottle of Tequila or Vodka and have at least 5 shots before the show's gonna begin (this will definitely soup up your ripping and backing up procedures.)

(A) have DVD Decrypter to rip via Mode, File F into your hard drive, and wait until it's done, then closed DVD Decrypter.

(B) or have DVDFAB Decrypter rip into your hard drive, once DVDFAB Decrypter is done, closed DVDFAB Decrypter.

(1) open up your hard drive and make a folder name NEW_MADGASCAR, now go inside NEW_MADAGASCAR and make a sub-folder name VIDEO_TS <--yes type EXACTLY like this, then EXIT out from your hard drive. **NOTE: this is your NEW folder that you're going to use with DVD Shrink.

(2) open up VobBlanker: (A) "input = source" (browse to your VIDEO_TS folder that was ripped by either DVD Decrypter or DVDFAB Decrypter earlier). (B) "output = destination"<-- browse to your new folder NEW_MADAGASCAR, VIDEO_TS and click OPEN or OK (this is your new folder that you're going to encode/transcode or shrink with DVD Shrink once VobBlanker is completd).

(3) click on VTS_8_VOB and highlight PGC 2, PGC 3, PGC 4, PGC 5 then "BLANK" them out, now click on PROCESS.

That's it... sit tight and wait until VobBlanker is done (VobBlanker should take 10 - 15 minutes only). Now VobBlanker will process and filter any bad sectors/encrypted junks out. Once it's successfully completed, you can encode/compress with DVD Shrink and do your usual shrinking procedures, and burn this b!tch at your desire burning engine.

Enjoyed it...... happy burning and happy holidays!!!!!

**NOTE: I GUARANTEE 100% that you'll have a fully working "full disc", if followed the above steps wisely. It's only a 3 steps that's all. Again, all I'm doing is trying to help those that DON'T HAVE AnyDVD or is having problem with DVD43, and or has failed trying other methods basically. Seriously, VobBlanker is the sh!t you'll ever need when it comes to RipGuard or ARccOS.

Very well done alkohol, your guide is perfect.

Mike,
Just so that it's clear if your wondering why those selections were made, I'll try and explain.

VTS_08_*.VOB was chosen because it repesents the main movie, the best way to tell is to look for the title set with the largest inital size. When its highlighted the associated PGCs in that title set are displayed. Here under PGC#, entry 01 is the only valid entry because of it's number of cells(25), duration(1hr:25min:52.21sec, and size(4129 MB) this represents the movie you want to keep. The other entries (02-05)are the problem ones, they're easy to spot because they are short in duration and small in size. These are the cell that are giving DVDshrink the problem so they need to be BLANKED.

Thanks for the help alkohol.

You're welcome buddy -- glad I could help. I'm here to pass/help out newbies that wants to get freebie/freewares, yet can perform such an outstanding job that's all.

Yep, VobBlanker is the sh!t you'll ever need when it comes to RipGuard or ARccOS. So I highly recommend for newbies to get it (while it still available) before it's gone like DVD Decrypter, hehe.

Happy burning and happy holidays!!!!!!

Thank you so much Alkohol for your excellent guide. I had copied this once without problems but when I tried again it just wouldn't encode. I kept getting an "out of memory not enough storage is available to process this command" error with anywhere between 3 and a half to 4 in a half minutes left to the finish of the encoding. With your guide it went perfectly with no errors. Again, Thanks!

My suggestion is to "uninstall" DVD Decrpter and reinstall DVD Decrypter back on your system. Now go to "tools" and "settings" and do the following:

*NOTE: in prior to the ripping part, let?s tweak/set a few settings inside DVD Decrypter*

** open up DVD Decrypter, go to Tools, and Settings

** at General on ?Removal Method? arrow down to ?Aggressive?

** at I/O, check ?Ignore Read Errors?

** at ?File Mode? check on all of the Remove, Ignore, Patch and Create MDS file.

** at CSS check ?Brute Force -->I/O key exchange,
On Failure: use key from another file [YES]

** at ?ISO Read Mode? check on all Remove and Create MDS file

Once you?re done with the settings, click OK to get out from the settings. Now rip the movie using MODE, File F to your hard drive.
