Hi, thanks for the prompt reply

I on about both burned dvds and original.

Thing is i use DVD Shrink and when it comes up against a region which needs changing, it uses one of my 'changes'. After that its ok cos i can remove the specify region thing (sorry im a bit of a novice). Ive heard about a programme called Any DVD. Is this what i need??

Cheers

When you hit the backup button in Shrink, check and make sure your region is set to region free, you should not have to be changing it.

Also if you ripping in the same region and playing the same region there is no need for change.

There is no new version of DVD Shrink, the latest ver. of Shrink is about 18 months old. When did you do this maybe you better uninstall and reinstall sounds like something is wrong.

You could try it, it will set the region to what your drive is set to. Mine looks like this

Once the drive is set to a region you should not have to change it. In fact when you get the drive you usually have to set it to the region you are in.

There's a $5 discount to us AD members until the end of the year for AnyDVD. Discounts also for other slysoft programs on the main page of AD:

http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/7161.cfm

This is a very nice program. One of the few non free programs that I recommend for both dvd/cd encryption breaking and making drives region free.

Every now and then I get a popup on DVD Shrink saying something about the region being changed on a certain original dvd.All mine are region 1-and the backups are region free. I just ignore that popup and backup like normal. Maybe that's the same popup you are getting.
