Okay guys I have through the past many many many hours been trying to figure out how to make my laptop burn WORKING dvds.

I recently bought a sweet lappy.
centrino II 2133 mhz 533 mhz fsb
2gb kingston ddr2 ram
80gb 5400rpm hdd :(
17" screen.
nvidia go 7800 gtx 256mb
and ofcause the piece of **** burner :)
a sony DVD RW-Q58A (suppose to be a modifed liteon)

Well yesterday I got everything set up nicely and wanted to start burning some of my backed up DVDs, which I already ripped with no RC, css and so on.
So I fire up my old trusty DVDdecrypter expecting nothing more than to be blown away by the speed and precicion only a german hooker can hope to have.

Well lets just say I was mildly surpriced to get "i/o error checking thingy" popup. Have never seen this before with my internal 4082b LG burner. I tried to install Adaptec ASPI Driver v4.71.2 with no luck. Then I made sure the drive was in dma mode and yup it sure was. downloaded the newest dvddecrypter, no luck. tried all the I/o modes, no luck.
Then I searched the web and found imgburn. Tested it and it did burn my dvd just fine. but then I tried to view it on my denon DVD2500 dvd player and it wont play it. It tries to load the DVD a few times and then gives up. Burning it with dvddecrypter and imgburn on my DESKTOP works a treat. Playing the disc on my laptop I burned on my laptop with imgburn results in powerdvd 6 playing it back and my denon dvd2500 not loading it completely.

I then try to burn another iso with imgburn on my lappy with the same result (good burn but no play in my denon.) I take the exact same iso and burn it on desktop using imgburn and the EXACT same settings and it works in my denon.

I have reinstalled windows, checked for dma, tried imgburn as DVDd wouldnt even start the burn. installed Adaptec ASPI Driver v4.71.2, been through 15 verbatim single layer discs no result.

My question to you guys is:

1: is there anything obvious I have missed in order to make my burned discs compatible with my Denon using a program like imgburn? it burns alright it just doesnt let me view it on my dvdplayer.

2: I have a few discs with css and region codes in iso format. how do I remove without having to recompress it all again. another program exactly like dvddecrypter, which primarily lets me burn my 30+ ISOs and remove the region on some of them while it writes it to the DVD?

Any smart solutions that doesnt involve having to install a heapfull of small apps taking up memory and annoying the hell out of me.

God I which I could get dvddecrypter to work without having that i/o thing blowing up in my face. But I havent found a single usable topic anywhere standard answer seems to be try other discs and clean you discs. Well I havent tried any other discs due to the fact they WORK just not with my dvdplayer unless burned with another burner.

hope I see some replies as im almost about to explode after 10 hours staight infront of the comp trying to make this work

I forget the name of the protection exactly,

but that sounds like

arcosos protection or something like that :D

i think dvdfab will bypass that

or customize dvd decrypter's settings

there's a post around here (wasn't made a sticky)

that shows exactly how to do that.

what the deuce..

you mean that sony protection thing right?
It cant be that as my desktop works just fine with dvddecrypter and the isos I have. my desktop burns the isos just fine so it still works with imgburn, which must mean that the ISO is completely unprotected.

by the way I dont have anydvd or the likes runnig in the background.

Wish I had another drive I could test.
