DVD's only work on comp

I have a phillips 8601 burner and use Record Now to burn my DVD's. They will only play on my computer and not on a regular home DVD player. This is driving me crazy and help would really be appreciated! Thanks

just curious but is your dvd player able to play burnt discs as not all can?

lots of reasons why it won't play as well...

bad media, outdated firmware, stand alone will not accept the format, burned too fast, errors, the list goes on and on..

lets start with some basics..
what media did you use?
what speeds did you burn at?
whats the current firmware on that burner?
what dvd player do you have?
did you use record now as the only program?
there are better burning proggies out there, and free to download too.

try burning onto Sony, maxell, or other good -r media. I have found burning to -r media will work in ever dvd player I have, unlike some +r media, wich not all my players will recognize.
