I can't take it anymore. I live in the boonies of nebraska and am stuck with dialup internet. It's freezing cold outside and snowing and there is absolutly nothing on tv and once again it seems like dialup is running slower than ever.

I have a xbox 360 and while all my friends are having fun killing each other on halo 2, call of duty 2, etc. I'm stuck here with nothing, except my wife, granted i love my wife and when it's cold outside like it is, theres some great ways to stay warm, but I am a mere man and need a rest from time to time :).

If it wasn't for the fact I want children I'd offer my testicles for highspeed internet. After all this ranting, lmao, I do have a question.

http://www.diodecom.net/ here is a link to a company that is located near me that offers wireless highspeed internet so you can research them if you want. But here is a link to what really pissed me off.

http://www.diodecom.net/wireless/map.htm if you look at this map of southeast nebraska. I am located in Gladstone, this map is not quite to scale because a neighbor who is a good friend lives about a 1/4 mile south/southeast and can get this wifi internet from fairbury. The only reason Gladstone cannot receive it is because we sort of sit in a valley and there are trees surrounding both sides of this great metropolis of 15 people :(. blocking our line of sight to the watertower.

I have been working my ass off to get something instaled on our own watertower and they keep promising us it's coming but they keep on being jews about it and not doing anything. No offense to actual jews, just ranting, I apologize. anyway we were supposed to have something in august and now its december and they keep lying to us.

So here's my question. Are there any routers powerful enough that I could share my neighbors internet connection? Or is there anyway at all I could somehow get a highspeed internet connection from fairbury or dayking that i havn't thought of besides paying 5000 bucks for a 100 foot tower in my yard. Sattelite is out of the question. I want to be able to play games online.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. If I don't get something done I'm going to be going on a diode shooting spree.

You have a wife, do something with her. Dont shell 300 to 400 dollars for a DirectWay internet hookup, thats probally your fastest option but, at roughley 100-250kpbs, and its snowing, thats bound to hinder the satallites reception.

ive got 11kbs connection so i definately know how you feel.im hoping for a 56k modem tonight from my brother.but we cant get broadband where i live and i cant afford to get a satellight for an internet connection.i think cable is out of the question too.you just have to manage with what you've got or save up for something better.
