you can easily find the manufacturer code of your fuji disk by using programs like, Nero, DVDInfo Pro, DVDIdentifier and more! check out the tab on the top fo the page for software DVDInfo Pro and DVDIdentifier are the free ones. then you can check out this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
then you can check out for yourself where your disk matches up on the list of medias!

Bigtoxy69: Those sony -8x should code as Sony08D1. BTW: The taiwanese sony -8x also have that same MID code. I've used the japanese sony -8x and they were very good. Booktyping is the reason I no longer use the dash format.

I am going to venture out tomorrow and find my nearest best buy. According to their map,it's 60 miles away-but a pretty straight shot.

saugmon- I'm so fortunate to only be 30miles away from my nearest DestBuy! ONE WAY -LOL! I understand about the Booktyping Thing & DVD+R/RW and will try it eventually ! waiting on NEWEGG to get the BenQ DW-1640's in at a sweet price ! I got on the notify list so it's a matter of time I suppose ! If I'm just making burns for myself It does'nt matter which format I use though Generally it's DVD-R But if I'm making a copy for the grandkids /or family I use DVD-R ! I have nothing against DVD+R though Just have more DVD-R media ! Once again LIL' GREEN BUDDY ! HAPPY HOLIDAYS
