I'm a newbie so please excuse any of my errors in this post. I tried reading National Treasure with DVD Shrink and AnyDVD in the background and I still received a cyclical redundancy error. I tried searching the forum but did not have any hits. Has anyone experienced similar problems with this movie and if so, any suggestions of what to try. Thanks in advance.

National Treasure was a real easy backup for me. I don't think you need to have AnyDVD in the background for this to work. cyclical redundancy error (CRC) error is usually due to a dirty or scratched disc. There is a thread that will asnwer pretty much any CRC error question you may have. Here it is:

Like GlueEater said probably a bad disc. No problems on my end either.
If your tried cleaning the disc and it still didn't work you may have a bad press.
Here's 2 programs to try and rip it with -DVD Decrypter & dvd fab decrypter- if neither can do it exchange it for a new one.

Thanks guys. I think I have a bad disk. I've cleaned it a couple different times and it still freezes when played. There is a couple of nice scratches in it so I'm guessing that's the problem. Thanks again for your input.
