I have used dvd shrink and decrypter for some time now and they work very well for me. I have now got a dvd that won't do the initial read/load, shrink brings up an error data error (cyclic redundancy check).
If this is new protection what prog. would identify it .

will this problem and ones like it mean that shrink will no longer be as usful a tool or will anyone update it.

No, you can still use shrink for most movies.. for the problem ones that won't work with shrink on it's own, use DVD43 running in the background.
Some people have reported a few that won't work with shrink now... but haven't found any myself yet.

I backed up my copy with DVDSHRINK and Nero with AnyDVD running with no problem.
Make sure you have the most recent AnyDVD. Also DVD43 and AnyDVD sometimes conflict with each other. I would pick one and delete the other. DVD43 also has conflicts with several different types of drivers. I had to remove it from my system to get anything to work correctly.
Government big enough to supply everything you need is powerful enough to take everything you have.

got as far as main title then when I go to burn image it comes up out of memory and the parameter is incorrect what can I do as i have got this far with shrink

Kung Fu Hustle is nothing special, DVD Decrypter alone can rip it flawlessly via Mode, File F. Another great ripper is DVDFAB Decrypter, go here http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm and get it (it has updated to "version 2.9.6.5" today 12/18/2005).

on a 6hour run with shrink and Nero but i will try it again as you say.
nice nick i got help along time ago from valuka on alcohal forun same base info that does help when you are looking for support does reducing speed help he always said that, even with good hardware

Thanks for the compliment. I guarantee you that DVDFAB Decrypter (version 2.9.6.5) will work 100%. In addition, DVD Decrypter can rip it smoothly via Mode, File F as well. I ripped it when Kung Fu Hustle first came out using DVD Decrypter alone without any issues at all.
6 Hours run with DVD Shrink and Nero doesn't look good. It shouldn't be that long for backing this movie. Did you use "Deep Analysis" and "Compress video with High Quality" checked with DVD Shrink at all? If I have the 2 checked, then DVD Shrink will take longer like 1 hr - 1 hr 20mins for encoding and transcoding.

Ok i have now used decrypter in mode F and have 5 VTS_02 files 0 to 4
what do i do next as i have not done this before
