I originally purchased Video Vault for DVD backup. I was using it in conjunction with DVD43. This past weekend I ran into 3 movies this combination would not handle, Madagascar, War of the Worlds, and The Skeleton Key. I installed the trial version of AnyDVD and Video Vault would not even attempt. I got CSS encryption messages.
So then I tried many of the freeware rippers, i.e. DVDDecrypter, Shrink. I followed guides posted on forums here at afterdawn and followed advice offered by many senior member posters. None of this seemed to completely work. This also took me a long time, which I am usually short of, not to speak of patence...
Finally I installed the trial version of DCDClone2. I was able to backup all three movies without any problem.
My question: does anyone have comparative experience between Video Vault and DCDClone2? Quality? Speed? Etc.?
Should I opt for a refund from Video Vault and purchase DVDClone2? To some degree I like the layout of Video Vault a little better, but it is not worth the trade off if I continue to experience problems with Movie backups.
This is my first post and I look forward to your responses. Thanks!

I cannot speak to Video Vault at all so I won't.
CloneDVD2 though I have and it is an excellent backup resource. Used in conjunction with AnyDVD (also from slysoft)it is hard to beat the ease of use.

I tried all of those, but I have time and patience problems, so after looking through this site some, I settled on AnyDVD and DVDClone2... seems to work pretty good.

CloneDVD 2 (by SlySoft) and AnyDVD are great. I have used over 15 copy software products and CloneDVD 2 along with AnyDVD give me the best balance of speed, quality, ease of use and value for the money.
Just try them, you'll buy them.
