DVDSHRINK choppy video.

Hi, I've been using DVDShrink without any problems for a while now, then I went to do a movie the other day and I kept getting the "redundancy check" error. It doesn't matter what movie I put in. If I go to play it in any type of dvd playing software it plays it super choppy..They play fine on my normal dvd player.
I watched the memory usage of the computer and it uses just about all of it to try and play the movie. This is a new computer and I've been going fine without any problems until now, and I can't seem to figure it out. I even bought one of those laster lens cleaners that apparently don't do anything..
Help would be appreciated.

The DVD you are trying to backup may be dirty, physically damaged (scratches) or badly authored.
·Try cleaning the disc - toothpaste is a very good thing to use.
·Try using DVD Decrypter to first rip the disc to your hard-drive, and then use DVD Shrink "Open Files". Here is a guide on how to use DVD Decrypter. It's important that you use the "File" mode - and from the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "All Files" (NOT "movie files").
·Try using your DVD writer to read the disc.
·Try any combination of the above.
·Go back to your shop and exchange it.

look if good use of dvddecrypter doesent do the job then youve got a bad disc

Another few in addition to what 2oldgeek said:
-try DVDFAB, my experience is that this is better with problem disc than DVDDecrypter. It can also handle newer movie. Free via software tab at top of page.
-If you do decide to use DVDDecrypter then remember to switch to agressive read mode.
-Check DMA.

Alright, thanks guys. I'll try those programs. I've seen them reccomended, but haven't tried them out yet.
I was just thinking it might be something else seeing as it has problems playing back any movie i try..in any program I try to play it in all of a sudden.

Is there a chance that the DVD reader/burner is failing? I question this because you said the it happens with any movie that you try.
This, I would not think would be the case if there were not something going on with the reader/burner.
Just a thought.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking... Would anyone know how to check or fix the drive itself?
Actually, I have 2 drives that will play the movies, and they both have the same problem. Is there anything that could go wrong with the drivers or something of that sort?

if it takes longer for a disc to load in ur drive my guess youve got a failing drive or if u get any wierd noise. or your lense could be dirty try gettting 1 of thoes cds that clean lenses

If BOTH drives have the same problem, what's the chance of both drives going out at the same time?
Try changing your IDE cable. They're cheap, usually come with new drives and can cause a multitude of problems when they get old and brittle..

Yeah it could be the cables especially if they are on the same one. It would effect both drives.

Thanks guys.. I ended up just reinstalling windows on my computer and it fixed it, because nothing else worked.
