DVD contents Hidden on PC

I have one DVD that was burnt by a friend which will not read at all on my PC. The movie plays fine in a stand-alone DVD player but my PC acts like there is no media inserted. I have tried using Nero, DVD Shrink, and DVD-X copy but nothing works. I can not even view the files in Windows explorer, but I have no problem reading any other DVDs. Any ideas what is so special about this one that will not play or what software I could use to read/copy it?

are u trying to play the dvd in your dvd burner or a dvd reader? if its the dvd burner then check the firmware. chances are there might be an update for your burner.

whats the media brand that your trying to play?

DVD have many kinds(dvd-ram, dvd-rom, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R dl). Not all kinds of disc your driver can read.

I have an Optirite DD0405 with updated firmware 160E and the disc I am trying to read is a Maxell DVD+R. Seems like it should be compatible.

I know the DVD was burnt on a PC so was wondering if there could be something in the way it was burnt?

It seems that you can open the disc but see nothing inside. Try using "Isobuster"
