Hello again!

My friend was recently trying to backup his copy of chaos legion, but he seems to be unable to do so effectively and the game freezes almost immediately. Is there a process that has to be done to back this game up correctly? I do not think it's dual layered...

thanks for any help

Gonna need some more info: What type of media did you use (ie - TDK 8X DVD-R) and what speed did you burn the game at? Also, have you tried rebuilding the game or checking for dummy files?

Sorry, he used Memorex 8x DVD-R and he both read and wrote the game at 1x speed. I have not yet rebuilt the game and i do not know how to check for dummy files. I was first checking to see if this was a common problem with this specific game.

You could try changing the burning speed to 4X. Also, you might want to ditch the Memorex and try better media: Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, TDK, Sony or Phillips.

I haven't heard anything about this game, so hopefully one of the options above will resolve the problem.

Good luck!

Chaos Legion is a pretty big game (4.37 GB from my memory), so it's possible that some rebuilding might be in order. I didn't, though, and it worked fine from what I played of it -- however, I didn't really play too far into it, either, since I didn't really like the game overly much =p

But yeah, at the very least, it should boot up and play fine through the first level or so ;) That fact that it doesn't work at all means a bad backup, unfortunately.
