I've done a search and tried to follow the steps replied to other users regarding a similar problem i have and still can't seem to find out what's wrong.

I've used dvdxcopy previously and it worked fine until all of a sudden it stopped burning media. Im now trying dvd shrink and im running into the same problem. prior to burning onto dvd-r it says 'illegal disc' and aborts the burn process.

I would appreciate any help i can get.

Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1836 and get your new firmware 1.G2 to run and update on your burner.

This is too close to the edge of the media. Try to customize to 4380MB or 4400MB at the max.

Try other high quality like genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "Advanced Azo" or "DataLifePlus" and Maxell (Hitachi Corp. - made in Japan) for your next dvd burning project.

Seems like your burner doesn't like the media, looks like it's having a hard time reading the blank disc so it rejected. Try to update your burner's firmware and use other high quality as mentioned above. Now, try to burn at 4X (that is the best speed for burning).

Good luck!!!!!

It's fully working. Just click on the blue & bold 1.G2 and it will automatically download.

Again, here it is http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1836

Remember to update your Nero to 6.6.0.18 as well.

aight, i updated my firmware to 1.2G it still didnt work. i updated to the latest version of Nero, still didn't work. then i tried a different type of media, instead of the TDK i put in a memorex DVD-R and it burns now. i guess my burner isn't compatible with certain media.. TDK being one of them.

thanks for all the help
