Backed up DVD sound problems

Yes I have been backing up my movies and come across a problem. When I watch them on my DVD player hooked to my tv they have perfect sound and picture. My problem is on my PC they play fine but no sound. I have both windows media player 10 and InterActual player installed. Same results on both. An audio cd will play sound but not my DVD's, back ups or originals no sound. Please help and Thanks in advance.
