first off what are you trying to do?
If you are trying to connect the PC to the Xbox so that
you can FTP between them then go here and start reading
the tutorials.
http://www.teammodders.com/viewforum.php?f=45 not really that hard, i have never had to bridge anything to do
it, just set up my main connection for connection sharing, which also has a tutorial.
Then set your xbox up to be able to connect to the LAN connection.

None of the connections are supposed to be shared, only enabled.

No, 1394 is for firewire. Is your modem connected via ethernet card or USB? If it's USB then try ethernet, but if it's not, then i can't help u any further, not sure why you're getting disconnected.

"None of the connections are supposed to be shared, only enabled."
depends what your trying to do.
When you set up a connection to FTP to an Xbox you do have
to set your main connection up for sharing so that your second LAN connection can be used for the Xbox and not cut off your internet connection.
http://teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=714 there is a tutorial on how to do it.
But i am not going through a router, just a strait Cat5 from
Xbox to PC.
