rip the movie with decrypter first and then run the files to vobblanker. i did this and everything went fine.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

The combination of DVD Decrypter ( with AnyDVD in the background) and CloneDVD2 backed these up with no problems.

@sskronic

If you have AnyDVD you don't need DVD43, as a matter of fact you shouldn't have both programs installed on your PC as they don't play well together.

When using DVD Decrypter to rip the movie to HDD while AnyDVD strips the copy protection make sure that you have DVDD set up in the I/O tab under interface options to read ElbyCDIO->ElaborateBytes.

**NOTE: for those that can not backup "The Brothers Grimm". It looks likes "Brothers Grimm" has Macrovision's RipGuard and or b!tch.

Yep, below is the method I used (for all RipGuard protections) and I can confirmed that it works 100%.

**NOTE: this is for those that doesn't have AnyDVD (or have tried but failed), DVDFAB Decrypter or DVD43 or other methods, and it has failed only.

Here's the method I used and it works 100%, yes... you hear me, a full disc GUARANTEE to work. If you do as follow, then you DON'T/WON'T even see that "annoying FBI Warning" as well, I blank that sh!t out too.

I ripped it with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F successfully. Then use VobBlanker to "blank" out PGC #2 from VTS_01_*.VOB and PGC #1 --> #5 of VTS_02_*.VOB, then PROCESS went smoothly. Encoded with Nero Recode 2, and burned with Nero Burning Rom easily.

**Tools need: DVD Decrypter, VobBlanker and DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 (your choice of preference). Here's what you need to do:

** get free VobBlanker here http://members.aol.com/posunplugged/jsoto/VobBlanker_2010_exe.zip

(**EXTRA STEP: now pop up a bottle of Tequila and have at least 5 shots before you're gonna proceed, this will definitely soup up the ripping & backing up process faster.)

**NOTE: before ripping the movie with DVD Decrypter, go to your C: drive or Hard drive, make a folder name NEW_BROTHERS GRIMM and make a sub-folder name VIDEO_TS inside "NEW_BROTHERS GRIMM", then Exit out.

1) rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via MODE, File F into your hard drive. Once it's completed, exit out.

2) open up VobBlanker: (A) set your "input = source" this is your files that was ripped by DVD Decrypter earlier. (B) set your "output = destination"<-- browse to your hard drive and look for NEW_BROTHERS GRIMM, VIDEO_TS, click Open/OK

3) (A) click on VTS_01_*.VOB, now "BLANK" out PGC #2 on the bottom window. (B) click on VTS_02_*.VOB, now "BLANK" out PGC #1, PGC #2, PGC #3, PGC #4 and PGC #5. (C) Once these are marked BLANK, click "PROCESS". That's it.... now sit tight and wait for VobBlanker to process and filter out all those junks until it's completed. VobBlanker should take somewhere like 10 - 15 minutes only.

4) open up DVD Shrink, click Open Files, browse to your newly created folder NEW_BROTHERS GRIMM, VIDEO_TS and perform your usual steps of shrinking. That's it.... easy as sippin' on some Hennessey.

The method I provided works 100% for any dvd movies that has RipGuard protection. However, to "BLANK" out which "VTS.XX.*.VOB" and "PGCs" may be varied (or to be determined) with different dvds, but that shouldn't be hard. PgcEdit usually tells you which VTS that carried the bad sectors (bad protected sectors or junks) when you ripped the movie with DVD Decrypter via MODE, File F or DVDFAB Decrypter.

**NOTE: again, the method I used works beautifully. I've already tested and watched my backup and it plays flawlessly on 2 of my standalone dvd players.

Good luck... happy burning and happy holidays!!!

I had problems backing up The Brothers Grimm with DVDShrink. So I used DVDFab and backed up on my harddrive. I than make a backup copy by burning with Nero Recode2. I believe I used the same procedure with valiant as well. If one program doesn't work, try another method. So far I have been able to make backup copies without having to purchase AnyDVD. Also be sure to use a good quality blank DVD media such as Taiyo Yuden.

I was having problems when I tried to back up Valiant. I found a solution. I used DVD Decrypter to rip the files to my hard drive, then used VobBlanker to blank out PGC #3 in VTS_01_*.VOB. I then opened the files with DVD Shrink, created the ISO file and burned with DVD Decrypter.

The 22 December 2005 @23:50 response from alkohol was right on ...I've seen a few other replys from this "guy/girl"? and he/she is topnotch in careful detailed instructions. This time however I'm curious as to what "PgcEdit" is and since "it tells you which VTS that carried the bad sectors", does it specify which "PGC #" you have to blank? I also want to thank alkohol very much for including the link to VobBlanker since it bailed me out pronto. Job well done to this member!

Alkohol - thanks so much for the detailed instructions!

I tried this and it worked fine, after I was unable to get BROS GRIMM copied using DVDShrink and AnyDVD.

Although I was able to use it with your instructions, I did not understand what I was doing with VOBBlanker. How do you determine what stuff needs to be blanked out? I did not really grasp all of the things VOBBlanker was showing me, or what to do with it.

Any chance you can instruct us on how exactly you determined what to do with VOBBlanker in the case of BROTHERS GRIMM?

THANKS!!!

download the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter, it supposably removes the 'no memory' error from the files...

try this it could be easier...
after ripping with DVDFab Decrypter, run through shrink, hey presto

I've read the various postings on using DVDecrypter and/or DVDFab Decrypter in conjunction with VOBlanker to backup a movie (Disney's Valiant, in particular). I have no problems, using either DVDecrypter or DVDFab Decrypter, but I have all sorts of trouble trying to get VOBlanker to work. I keep getting the following error message: Error reading input VOB: Unsynchronized. Can anyone help me with this? Also, are there any guides availble on how to use PgcEdit to remove the blank/corrupted sectors of movies?

I was able to backup BRO GRIM with just DVD Shrink. I was able to get just the movie. although you can probally get the rest if you want it to. you just have to reauthor it and cut out the first few seconds of the movie. it didn' seem to work on my pc but works fine on my xbox. just a thought
