They seem to be in short supply. Is everybody using -R? Why?

I think most people use what ever will play in there stand alone player. +R you may be able to book type too DVD-ROM.

actually, i have never even USED a 4x DVD+R Taiyo Yuden before...i know they made them a LONG time ago, but i never got around getting my hands on any...hehe...the 8x DVD+R are much more readily available and are very high quality discs...

sorry, can't help ya out on a good source for the 4x DVD+R discs...the ONLY 4x rated discs i use to this day are the 4x DVD-R TYG01s...naturally made by Taiyo Yuden...they are great discs, but in the DVD-R format...not the DVD+R in which you are looking for...

I use the plus format for the booktyping purposes. There's a huge compatability difference between my dash backups and my booktyped backups. No more dash for me.

Quality plus format 4x is getting very hard to find. I have been having better success with the +8x speed media like:
Japanese sony +1x-8x-Yuden000-T02
Japanese fuji +8x-Yuden000-T02
Japanese maxell +8x-Maxell-002-00
Office Depot +8x-Ritek-r03
Verbatim +8x-MCC-003

Huge coaster reduction since the switch to 8x speed media.

If +4x speed is a must, Look for the Verbatim +4x digital movie quality discs. Wal-mart use to have them and bestbuy still carries them.
