i shot some footage with a digital camera and i wanted to import it into adobe premiere pro but it said "compressed file not supported" does any one know what to do!

Do you have the Correct codec for this File installed?? Meaning can you watch the File in Say Media Player?? If so then you should have the codec installed but if not then you don"t have it installed and it is why you can not import it into premier....
