I am having a hellacious problem with my burning. I replaced my burner, updated all my software and have reset my settings in Windows, Shrink and Nero per advice from senior Afterdawn members. Still, 9 out of every 10 DVDs will die mid-burn (ie drive stops writing). My old drive was performing poorly and now my new one is too. Could it be the media? I'm on my second spindle (of 10 spindles I bought), and almost every burn has failed. Did I just get a load of crappy DVDs? Could I have bought a bad burner (bought new at Best Buy Sony DRX-810UL)? Virus? Any ideas? I used Identifier on the DVD Blanks and it gave me MCC-003 as the info for the DVDs. Are they the problem? I'm about to just give up on everything to do with burning cause I've spent about $500 on DVDs, $200 on a new burner and lots of stressful hours trying to figure out what the hell is causing my DVDs to crash.
well, i simply love those MCC003 Verbatims, i think the problem is not so much your blank dvds...it's most likely on HOW you have your system setup...
how much ram (memory) do you have?
also, have you defragmented your harddrive lately?
ran any virus-scans/ad-aware scans to make certain your computer hard drive is not infected...?
from the info you've provided, it seems to me thus far, that the issues lie WITHIN your setup...and how it's setup...whether that be "properly" or not...
also, a Nero log would be helpful to pinpoint problems more accurately...make sure u edit your serial number as you really don't want someone else stealing your serial... :)
