So what r some names the dvds that work the best? I use imation or maxell r these good or bad?

Imation are bad... maxell are ok, but depends on the media code.

The best media to use is Taiyo yuden or verbatim.

Which format do you use: Plus or Dash?

Quality may vary immensely between spindles of the same brand name/but different format. TDK is a good example.

I try to find the spindles of fuji/sony/and maxell that say Made in Japan. Lot's of taiyo yuden and hitachi in those.

Verbatim and taiyo yuden are among the best. They feature advanced metal azo dye.

Ritek's are also pretty good.You can get them also on the taiwanese maxells and office depot 8x brand media.Anywhere from 20 cents to 25 cents each when on sale.

Imation are usually junk.They use to be pretty good,but have switched to manufacturers with low quality control.I'd consider these in the same ballpark at TDK/Memosux/Phillips/Teon/and other generic and store brand media.

When those brands go on sale,you can get the higher quality media for about the same price.
