I am a new user to this whole dvd burning issue and am still trying to get the hang of it. I have read many advices from several users about movies that can't be burned with shrink due to an error message saying "cyclic redundancy check" (VALIANT, GREAT RAID, CRY WOLF,etc...) and I was wondering if there are any kind of software that can be bought that would eliminate this error? As I said before I am a total newbie at this and just bought my first computer 6 mo ago and am not familiar to all of this, I would appreciate it if someone could help me out and direct me in the right direction!!!!

Thnx

you dont need to buy any thing all you need are dvdd, shrink, Voblanker or Fitvts

Dvdd to your HD> FitVts or voblanker> shrink> dvdd to your disc and you can down load them here
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm
and this is FitVts

I you want to keep your same setup, then try AnyDVD by slysoft. It's a background ripper, and helps majority of the ripping programs like DVD Shrink to rip the newer encryptions. You can get it here in the software tab under rippers. There's a $5 discount for us AD members until the first of the year.

It's an excellent ripper, and no extra step is needed. It also makes your drive regionfree and helps pull off cd encryptions.Once activated, you'll see the icon of a red fox in the lower right corner tray. Then you know it is working.

There's a free 21 day trial if you'd like to try it.

I did cry wolf on my old backup pc last week using DVD Shrink and Nero. I have no other programs like AnyDVD or DVD43 on that machine.

The other program that is GREAT is CloneDVD2 and if purchased at the same time as AnyDVD from slysoft you can obtain a bundle discount. I have CloneDVD2 and it is fantastic. Works very well and is very user friendly.

You will see by the shear number of posts at this forum that it is well received by all who use it.

Voblanker you need to creat a blank folder as an out put folder, load the dvdd vts folder as an in put> process> shrink the out put folder to iso img > burn with dvdd to your blank

Load the 21 day trial for AnyDVD and CloneDVD. This is the easiest to follow and understand. Once you have tried it, you will purchase. Best no nonsense application. It's just too easy not to love.

Another method that will work is to use DVDFab decrypter (free) from here: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

And use this guide: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup%20with%20DVDFABDecrypter,S...

This will get you through those movies, unless they are dirty, or scratched real bad. (Common with CRC errors) in which case you should get a different disc and try again.

I personally have AnyDVD which is the berries. Beats every encryption.

Cheers.
